Taco Travels Again – To New England and NYC!

Taco Travels Again – To New England and NYC!

Over the Fourth of July weekend, Nate and I took a 7 hour drive to Connecticut.  Now I was under the impression that the drive would be hideously longer than that, but our destination was in Norwalk, CT, very close to New York City.  In fact, from the beach in Norwalk, we could just see Long Island in the distance. We went to the specific town of Norwalk because Nate lived there for 3 years post graduation from college. We…

Tacos, Music and a Trip Dahn South of Pittsburgh

Tacos, Music and a Trip Dahn South of Pittsburgh

Two Fridays ago, Nate and I went to see our friend Chris play in his band, The Weathered Road.  We have seen the band play multiple times and love their music. This time they were performing in Morgantown, West Virginia for the weekend.  I have only been to Morgantown once before when I was scoping out colleges. I heard Morgantown was a great place to visit and I was looking forward to taking a Friday evening trip to Black Bear Burritos to jam out…

California Tacos Round 3 and 4

More Tacos Mid-Trip at Sancho’s! On Monday during the Cali trip, my girlfriends and I spent another day at the beach, followed by paddle boarding in a harbor near Long Beach.  I was so happy to finally try paddle boarding and I was even more happy when I successfully finished the hour ride without falling into the water.   After we went paddle boarding, we were ready for some tacos for dinner. Hannah recommended Sancho’s Tacos. It was right on the…

California Tacos Round 1 and 2

California Here I Come (and went) So far this year, I have been lucky enough to take two trips to Southern California to see one of my best friends from college, Hannah.  I met her along with Julia (From the Philly taco blogs), my freshman year of college.  For the past 8 years I’ve known Hannah, she always said she could see herself living out West and she made it happen in October of 2015.  I am very proud of…

Tacos….in Paris!

Tacos….in Paris!

French Tacos! Last week, I took my first trip to Europe.  I went with my cousin Becky to Paris, France for 5 days and to London for a day.  Now I know Paris is a city known for their crepes, ham and cheese dishes, wine and baguettes, and not their tacos so I was bracing myself for a week of no tacos.  Tacos at Candelaria However, when I came acorns an article on MSN a few weeks prior to the…

Philly Tacos PT 3

Philly Tacos PT 3

On Sunday night, Julia pulled through again with another reservation at a Mexican restaurant in the downtown area of Philadelphia.  For someone who apparently didn’t like tacos, she was doing a great job finding awesome taco restaurants. We went to El Vez on 121 S 13st Street in the Center City area. El Vez is in Stephen Starr’s network of restaurants, so it comes with high praise.  Our reservation was not until 9pm, so we had plenty of time to…

Philly Tacos pt 2

Philly Tacos pt 2

After spending Friday night in Upper Chichester,  I met up with Julia at her apartment in Manayunk Saturday afternoon.  Manayunk is about a 15- 20 min drive away to the heart of the city.  Manayunk has downtown strip of bars, shops, and boutiques right along Main Street.  It reminds me a lot of  Walnut Street in Shadyside. After we spent the afternoon at Frankford Hall (dominated the foosball table there) and Independence Hall Biergartens along with a power nap in…

One of my best friends I met in college, Julia, moved back to Philadelphia after school and I try to visit her at least twice a year.  We usually spend one night in Manayunk (where she lives) and the other night in the city when I come for the weekend.  I can’t believe with our hectic work schedules, we were both off the entire Labor Day Weekend.  Thankfully, I was able to spend the holiday weekend with Julia and friends…
