My green eyes make it to Azul Bar Y Cantina.

My green eyes make it to Azul Bar Y Cantina.

Twice! So far, I have made it twice to Azul Bar Y Cantina this summer. The first time was by car and the second time was by bicycle. Kevin and I live only about 6.5 miles from the restaurant so we knew it was bikeable, but decided to drive the first time to scope out the route. Riding my road bike to the restaurant made me realize that I need to tune my bike asap as my brakes were not…

Tacos and Arches make a great duo!

Tacos and Arches make a great duo!

Kevin and I kicked off our first vacation of the year together in Utah. The 13 day adventure included hiking, camping, exploring riverbeds, UTV riding, stargazing, and seeing national parks. On the first day, we flew into Salt Lake City and drove four hours south to Moab. It was exciting that the first two nights were completely unplanned and we were banking on first-come, first-served BLM camping. Night one was a success after finding a sweet camp spot by Bowtie…

Just north of Mexico…in Mecca for tacos.

Just north of Mexico…in Mecca for tacos.

After watching an epic sunrise in Cholla Cactus Garden and completing a 7 mile hike on the Lost Palms Oasis Trail, we left Joshua Tree National Park for the afternoon. I was sad to know this was our last day at Joshua Tree National Park. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Joshua Tree National Park from sunrise to sunset, along with the incredible stargazing. I think tied with the natural beauty, was the adventure that came within the park….

Bike the Burgh and eat the tacos at Taquitos.

Bike the Burgh and eat the tacos at Taquitos.

Kevin and I had a bicycle and taco date night planned for a beautiful fall afternoon. The plan was to check out the fairly new taco place called La Bodega in the Southside on our way to Voodoo Brewery via the Greater Allegheny Passage Trail. The plan was quickly changed when I locked eyes with Taquitos Taco Truck less than 1 mile into our ride. My preferred bike route down Mount Washington involves cycling on Grandview Avenue all the way…

Should I swipe left or right for Tacos Al Chile in Golden?

Should I swipe left or right for Tacos Al Chile in Golden?

The week prior to my visit to see Carolyn in Colorado, Carolyn and Tyler had some disappointing news. Their boat’s transmission died. We wanted a backup plan for boat day so we decided on a river float. None of us were prepared for the exhilarating rapids of Cedar Creek in Golden, Colorado. We all imagined the float to be super casual that maybe even involve a drink or two. That was clearly not the case. We screamed in fear, gripping…

Baltimore Tacos Take 2, Clinic Visits Take idk 100, and…Action!

I jinxed myself when I said (with a taco in my hand) that I was celebrating my last clinic visit at Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. I ended up having to go to Baltimore again the following week. With a lot of monitoring and wound care, I am finally seeing progress from my last surgery on December 18th! I could have reviewed another Baltimore taco spot after my last clinic visit, but I decided to surprise my mother with her favorite…

FALLing for tacos at Los Chiludos.

FALLing for tacos at Los Chiludos.

On a cool, crisp Taco Tuesday, I made my way to Los Chiludos in Canonsburg. Tacos are a necessity all year long, but the thought of a hot taco right off the grill warms my heart this time of year. So you best believe I put on jeans, a leather jacket, and a sweater and took the 25 min drive to 325 Southpointe Blvd. I met up with my friend, Dan, who had Los Chiludos on his taco radar for…

From Trails to Tacos at California Taco Shop

From Trails to Tacos at California Taco Shop

My second visit to California Taco Shop has been long overdue. My first visit was Labor Day weekend of 2019 (read about my first visit here!) and for some reason, I forgot about this gem until I began trekking some segments of the Rachel Carson Trail. With all of the hiking near Shaler area and Route 8, I have made two trips back to California Taco Shop in a week time frame. There is nothing better than eating authentic tacos…

West Coast Taco Tour 2019

West Coast Taco Tour 2019

In the beginning of November I took a rather spontaneous trip for someone like me who plans quite a bit. Less than two weeks after the decision to travel, I made my way to the West Coast for a 12 day trip to see both college and Ultimate Frisbee friends and to eat some West Coast tacos. Even though the first city I visited during my trip was San Francisco, my first taco stop on the West Coast Taco Tour…

I missed out on the horchata at California Taco Shop

I missed out on the horchata at California Taco Shop

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, I met up with two coworkers, Melissa and Robert, for some late lunch. Robert, Melissa, and I have met up quite frequently over the past few months for lunches and walks and I always look forward to it. For this meet up, Robert suggested the California Taco Shop and I was obviously okay with that choice. California Taco Shop is located at 890 Butler St in Etna. After lunch, I had plans to attend a…
