Hot tacos this March in Florida.

Hot tacos this March in Florida.

I joined the Florida bandwagon and visited my friend Colin for a long weekend. Colin lives in Lakeland, Florida which is about 45 min inland from Tampa. Colin had an awesome map and itinerary which included bicycling, hiking, paddleboarding, beach time, and tacos. Colin knows me very well, clearly! All of my favorite things crammed into 3 full days. Gallito Taqueria Colin scooped me up from the Tampa Airport Thursday evening and he picked out a waterfront beer garden called…

Happy Hour Highs at Lowkey Taco.

Happy Hour Highs at Lowkey Taco.

My coworker, Keri, recently informed me about a restaurant that has been slaying tacos on Tuesdays at $2 a pop. Over the past summer, Keri did me a solid favor and supplied me with tacos from El Burro when I was doing my Rachel Carson Trail Challenge (see post here). When I need tacos, I know I can rely on her. Anyways, Keri told me to let her know a time when I would like to join her and Matt…

FALLing for tacos at Los Chiludos.

FALLing for tacos at Los Chiludos.

On a cool, crisp Taco Tuesday, I made my way to Los Chiludos in Canonsburg. Tacos are a necessity all year long, but the thought of a hot taco right off the grill warms my heart this time of year. So you best believe I put on jeans, a leather jacket, and a sweater and took the 25 min drive to 325 Southpointe Blvd. I met up with my friend, Dan, who had Los Chiludos on his taco radar for…

Scootin’ to tacos in Charlotte.

Scootin’ to tacos in Charlotte.

November was one of the best months of the year for me. I started the month off with a celebration of my Halloween birthday surrounded by many of my Pittsburgh friends, followed by a trip to California, Tahoe, Deep Creek, and Charlotte. The month of November was mainly focused on regaining strength and range of motion from many surgeries I had this past year, so while visiting my college friends, I maintained my strict exercise regimen. On my trek, I…

West Coast Taco Tour 2019

West Coast Taco Tour 2019

In the beginning of November I took a rather spontaneous trip for someone like me who plans quite a bit. Less than two weeks after the decision to travel, I made my way to the West Coast for a 12 day trip to see both college and Ultimate Frisbee friends and to eat some West Coast tacos. Even though the first city I visited during my trip was San Francisco, my first taco stop on the West Coast Taco Tour…

T and T Cantina stands for…..

T and T Cantina stands for…..

Tacos and Tequila! All the stars lined up on the day after Labor Day. It was a Tuesday. The weather was ever so pleasant. It was Happy Hour. I wanted tacos nearby. I had hungry company. On that magical eve, my Mount Washington neighbor, Ben, joined me for tacos at T and T Cantina, located on the side patio adjacent to Coughlin’s Law. As you may recall from my post about one year ago, I was not a huge fan…

Bar, lounge, dining room, or patio tacos at Calavera Tap + Taco

Bar, lounge, dining room, or patio tacos at Calavera Tap + Taco

UPDATE: This restaurant has closed. It did not make it very long. In the middle of a hot summer week, I met my coworker, Cynthia, for lunch at a new taco spot in Warrendale called Calavera Tap + Taco. Coming to Calavera mid-week allowed us to easily pick seating anywhere at the restaurant. This included the indoor dining area next to the kitchen and wall decorations, a full bar and lounge adjacent to the 30 plus tequilas and mezcals, or…

Celebrating Pittsburgh’s Restaurant Week with tacos from Coughlin’s Law Kitchen and Ale House

Celebrating Pittsburgh’s Restaurant Week with tacos from Coughlin’s Law Kitchen and Ale House

After back to back weekends of Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments, I finally had a weekend free for Pittsburgh tacos.  Lucky for me, the weekend I had open happened to be a part of Pittsburgh’s Restaurant Week.  In the past, I would try to make an effort to make it to a few of the restaurants partaking in the event to expand my Pittsburgh foodie bubble.  However, the hardest part for me is remembering which week the event falls.  This time, my aunt…
